At Pura Vida Tallow, that idea guides everything we create: skincare rooted in traditional ingredients, thoughtful sourcing, and a belief that simplicity often provides the deepest nourishment for skin.

 

Why Pura Vida Tallow Exists

Like many people, I began looking more closely at what was actually in the products I was using every day.

The more I learned, the more I was drawn back to whole, traditional ingredients that have nourished skin for generations — simple, recognizable, and naturally compatible with our skin.

Tallow stood out immediately. When sourced well and prepared carefully, it is one of the most supportive ingredients for healthy skin.

Pura Vida Tallow grew from a desire to create skincare that feels good in every way — for the skin, for the body, and for the land it comes from.

 

A Personal Note

Living on Southern Vancouver Island, I spend much of my time outdoors — hiking forest trails, exploring the coastline, and enjoying the quiet rhythm of nature. That connection to the land has deeply shaped the philosophy behind this brand.

Every formula begins with high-quality tallow sourced from carefully selected farms, where animal welfare and land stewardship come first.

We combine this with a small number of thoughtfully chosen ingredients — including raw local honey and organic plant oils — selected for their ability to support healthy, resilient skin.

Every formulation is intentionally minimal — only what your skin needs, nothing it doesn’t.

Each product is handmade in micro-batches on beautiful Southern Vancouver Island, a place known for its rugged coastline, temperate rainforests, and strong culture of outdoor living.

Producing in small batches allows us to maintain freshness, quality, and care in every jar.
